As a judge, public prosecutor and now defence counsel and lawyer I can only urgently recommend any person charged to look for a legal counsel as early as possible. The many years of my experience have shown that early appointing of a counsel may often be a decisive criterion. Rash statements in front of the police or public prosecutors are mistakes that are often hard to correct and which would not occur if a defence counsel/lawyer can examine the evidentiary facts and circumstances and inspect the file duly in advance.
